CC7 jumbo slabs
Since startup of the CC7 continuous casting line in September 2011, slabs can be cast in thicknesses of 355 mm and widths of up to 2,200 mm. This makes it possible for us to supply heavy plate with single weights of up to 20 tons.
The new CC7 is the most modern continuous casting line in the world. The optimized secondary cooling system guarantees excellent surface properties, even in very wide slabs. The first industrial robots have now been implemented for the first time on the casting platform. This increases the quality of the process as well as the level of work safety.
In the meantime, we supply thermomechanically rolled steels with low carbon content as structural steels for offshore applications, offshore wind parks and pipelines. Steels with higher carbon content (structural steel, boiler steel) will be supplied in the future.
Please find below the selected steel grades and dimension ranges based on slabs cast on the CC7 line.
