With excellent anti-fingerprint properties, multicover® is a multifunctional, nearly invisible protective coating on hot-dip galvanized steel strip. Powder coatings can also be applied directly to the product.

multicover is a sustainable sealant for hot-dip galvanized steel strip (Z).

A hot-dip galvanized steel strip treated with multicover features excellent properties, including good joinability, a sustainable seal and much more.

Direct cost savings through reduction of process steps

When using steel strip coated with multifcover®, the oiled part must not be degreased, rinsed or dried. The direct formability and excellent adhesive properties of the material make it possible to directly powder-coat or adhesive-bond the material after deep-drawing. This substantially reduces the processing costs.

The use of multicover and clearcover® eliminates the need for complex processing steps such as oiling, degreasing, rinsing and drying.

Multiple certifications

multicover® is a high-performance and sustainable sealing technology.

Do you need a sustainable and permanent premium sealant with outstanding anti-fingerprint properties, excellent formability and excellent corrosion resistance? Then multicover® is the product of your choice.

multicover® is a multifunctional, almost invisible sealant (thin organic coating = TOC) on hot-dip galvanized steel strip (Z). Its outstanding properties make multicover® extremely versatile. It is alkali-resistant but can be removed with polar organic solvents. A tailor-made polymer matrix ensures highest corrosion stability, best formability, very good paintability and resistance to fingerprints (anti-fingerprint). Please see the EN 50979 standard for more information.

From lightweight design to corrosion protection solutions for the highest demands
The numerous applications of hot-dip galvanized steel strip are highly convincing. Typical applications are found in the automotive industry, for example in crash-relevant structural parts, A and B pillars, seat structures, sills and exposed components. The material is also widely used in the construction and household appliance industry, for example in roof and facade elements, doors, ventilation ducts, household appliance and control cabinets. Other areas of application include the production of tubes, structural members and modular shelving systems in which high dimensional stability and long-term corrosion protection are required. Depending on the requirements, various coatings are available, including corrender® zinc-magnesium as well as a wide range of different strengths.

Hot-dip galvanized cold-forming steels made by voestalpine are perfectly suited for modern production processes. Press-hardening steels for hot forming are available in various strengths and are coated with zinc or zinc-iron. Best crash behavior, high dimensional accuracy and very good joining properties are the hallmarks of components made of these materials.
