The competencies of the voestalpine Group’s Metal Engineering Division have been bundled into two business segments: "Railway Systems" and "Industrial Systems" and offers customers complete, tailor-made system solutions for the most demanding industrial segments such as railroad infrastructure, automotive or the energy sector.

The Metal Engineering Division of the voestalpine Group is the global market leader for railway infrastructure systems, diagnostic and monitoring solutions for infrastructure and rolling stockand as well as software solutions for maintenance management. With Industrial Systems business unit, the division is also the European market leader for customized quality wire and a global supplier of complete welding solutions. Seamless tubes are also supplied all over the world from the Kindberg site in Austria. Customers come from the rail infrastructure industry, the energy sector, mechanical engineering, the automotive industry and the construction industry as well as the renewable energy sector. As part of greentec steel, the Metal Engineering Division also works and researches intensively on various innovative, climate-friendly technologies and production processes.

Products

The division offers the widest range of premium rails and turnout systems in the world. The portfolio is complemented by diagnostic and monitoring technologies for infrastructure and rolling stock as well as software solutions for asset and maintenance management for rail infrastructure operators. In Europe, the division also produces high-quality wire rod and drawn wire, suqare and round seamless tubes and threaded connections for the global market. In the field of welding technology, it has the most comprehensive range of medium and high-alloy welding consumables, supplemented by welding machines and digital welding solutions. The Metal Engineering Division also has its own steel production.
