Stronger together: Böhler Welding, PTH Products and LASACO implement high-performance robotic welding solution for mechanical engineering components.

Together with PTH Products, a producer of specialized machine components for road construction and forestry, and the experienced system integrator LASACO, a robotic welding station was successfully realized. The perfectly coordinated interaction of all components not only enables the highest level of process stability and reproducible welding results, but also sustainably increases efficiency and productivity in automated manufacturing.

The welding solutions used were specifically selected and designed for automated series production. They ensure a stable arc characteristic in robotic welding with our URANOS NX PSR power source, reliable and consistent wire feeding, high reproducibility over long production cycles, and robust performance in continuous industrial operation.

    PTH Products is an internationally active machine manufacturer based in Styria, Austria, specializing in the development and production of high-performance special machinery for road and path construction, the construction industry, as well as forestry and agricultural applications.

    The company stands for deep engineering expertise and robust, practice-oriented designs, as well as machines built for continuous operation under the toughest conditions. Its solutions are characterized by high efficiency, low wear, and maximum operational reliability, supported by a vertical integration depth of around 95% at its Austrian production site.

    These values are also reflected in the high standards applied to automated welding technology, which were successfully implemented as part of this project.

    LASACO - Competent system integrator for robotic welding

    The role of LASACO covered a wide range of services—from detailed requirements analysis and precise identification of customer needs through to project engineering and comprehensive plant planning, including amortization analysis. Based on this, LASACO carried out the design and integration of the robotic systems and provided targeted consulting for fixture construction, ensuring optimal conditions for an efficient production process.

    In addition, LASACO defined the appropriate welding processes and took responsibility for programming the robots and peripheral components. A key focus was placed on ensuring stable and reproducible serial production under industrial conditions. The scope of services was rounded off by continuous after-sales support, ensuring sustainable system performance during ongoing operations.

    For stable robotic welding processes, close coordination between robot technology and the welding process is essential. In this project, we were particularly impressed by the flexibility, rapid responsiveness, and expert support provided by voestalpine Böhler Welding.
