Arc Spraying Cored Wires

UTP offers a wide range of cored wires exclusively for thermal arc spraying. These spraying consumables are available as cored wires for flame or arc spraying and allow the production of coatings with a very high deposition rate both in simple spraying (wires with suffix -M) and in spraying with subsequent fusion (wires with suffix -MF).

Thermal arc spray wires can be manufactured in non- or low-alloyed steels as well as in stainless grades and also in Nickel or Cobalt bases. It is also possible to produce cermet coatings and special alloys resistant to abrasion, corrosion, hot oxidation and various specific wear loads.

  • Thermal wire arc spraying process is very interesting to consider when it comes to coat significant surfaces with thin metallic layers whose function is to resist a particular mode of wear, to compensate for local wear, to improve sliding conditions or to ensure a certain level of adhesion. Applications are numerous in industrial sectors as varied as aeronautics, steel industry, energy production, waste incineration, oil & gas industry, off-shore, power plants, structural steel and concrete constructions, valves and fittings, automotive industry, dredging applications, mining, pulp and paper, textile industry, agriculture, turbine engine blades and many others.
