Automation Day 2026 - Focus on innovation und automation

17 August 2026 |

On June 18, 2026, the ATC in Hamm became the meeting place for around 50 industry professionals who accepted the invitation to attend Automation Day 2026 by voestalpine Böhler Welding. Together with our technology partners Yaskawa, Abagy, BIS Braun, and Air Liquide, we hosted a fully booked innovation day dedicated to robotics, sensor technology, and automated welding.

The strong attendance and high level of interest in the technologies presented made the event a great success. Automation Day combined expert presentations, live demonstrations, and valuable networking opportunities in a highly practical environment.

Expert presentations with valuable insights

The focus of the event was on innovative solutions for increasing productivity, quality, and workplace safety in modern manufacturing. Our partners presented the latest developments and practical applications in welding automation:

  • Abagy: Adaptive robotic welding solutions for high product variability beyond traditional serial production
  • Yaskawa: Efficient planning and implementation of automation projects, from virtual simulation to real-world application
  • BIS Braun: The journey to the perfect weld, from the initial concept to the finished robotic welding system
  • Air Liquide: New approaches to reducing welding fumes in MAG welding
  • voestalpine Böhler Welding: The advantages of flux-cored wires in automated welding applications

Special attention was given to flexible robotic welding, AI-supported programming, and modern welding processes designed to sustainably improve productivity.

    Hands-on technology experience

In addition to the presentations, practical demonstrations took center stage at the Application Technology Center. Participants had the opportunity to experience modern automation solutions firsthand and engage directly with industry experts.

One of the highlights was multi-layer welding of thick plates using metal powder flux-cored wire, demonstrating how the combination of advanced robotics, high-performance welding processes, and premium consumables can significantly enhance both productivity and weld quality.

Another key attraction was the presentation of the URANOS NX welding power source in combination with the CO-BRO® GUARD, showcasing how straightforward and flexible automated welding can be today. Its intuitive operation and intelligent process control enable even users with limited automation experience to quickly enter the world of robotic welding.
