Burned lime serves as a refining agent in ironmaking because it binds impurities. Fine lime is used predominantly in the construction industry in the form of calcium hydrate. Limestone chips are used as a basic additive in the production of hot metal. Water stones are used to regulate torrents or as design elements in gardens and slopes.
