IPO 1995 – 30 years at the stock exchange

Successful on the Vienna Stock Exchange for 30 years

October 9, 1995, marks a special milestone in our history. On this day, voestalpine shares were listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange for the first time. The IPO laid the foundation for a unique process of change that continues to shape us as a company to this day.

Today, we are a leading global steel and technology group with around 500 companies and locations in more than 50 countries on all five continents. Our customers include leading international partners in the automotive and mechanical engineering industries as well as the aviation and energy industries. In addition, we are the global market leader in rail infrastructure systems and special profiles.

Innovative financing options

The financial market also opens up innovative financing opportunities for us to actively drive growth and future projects. In fall 2024, we became the first European steel company to issue a green bond, thereby assuming a pioneering role on the capital market.

Another anniversary: 25 years of employee participation

In 2000, the management and works council of the voestalpine Group developed a concept for employee participation in the company as shareholders: the Employee Participation Private Foundation.

The voestalpine employee participation program is the largest employee participation program in Austria in terms of both voting percentages and share value, and has been considered a European model for years. The concept developed in 2000 contributes significantly to the stable ownership structure of the Group by pooling voting rights in an employee participation foundation, while at the same time enabling employees to participate directly in the success of the company. Currently, voestalpine employees represent over 14% of the voting rights of voestalpine AG.

Strategy 2030+

Our goal is and remains value-enhancing growth in a dynamic environment, as anchored in our Strategy 2030+. Technology, innovation, and operational performance form the basis for this growth. Other strategic pillars include our broad positioning and international “local for local” strategy, which we will continue to expand. In addition, we are currently implementing Austria's largest climate protection program with our greentec steel transformation project.
