Exchange of experts in the automotive sector between Europe and Asia!

At the end of March 2023, a delegation of customers from Korea visited us. As part of an Expert Exchange Europe Tour organized by voestalpine Camtec, we welcomed Kia / Hyundai Motors to voestalpine Camtec's headquarter in Linz. The program included a factory tour and an exchange on current topics and opportunities for expanding cooperation. The requirements regarding the automobile production are getting more complex, which is why, among other things, the latest technical topics concerning LOCCAM® and e-cam were discussed.

The LOCCAM®
The LOCCAM® is an innovative locking cam unit and was developed to optimize the output of the deep-drawing process in the tool, to increase the part quality and thus to ensure high precision and quality in the forming process. Due to the innovative LOCCAM® system, material savings of up to 8% are possible.

The e-cam
The e-cam monitors and informs in real time about performance data of cam units in the tool and thus opens up new dimensions in quality assurance, process reliability and economic efficiency. Concerning of integrated sensors, the slide position, load and whether the positive return is active can be monitored. The e-cam convinces with a consistently process monitoring with warning signals, it prevents consequential damage in the mould and optimizes service and replacement cycles via predictive maintenance.
