ERL hV15 rail fastening system

The ERL hV15 rail fastening system is designed for category B in accordance with the EN 13481-5 standard with a maximum permissible axle load of 180 kN.

Elastic mountings for rails or ribbed base plates are used to improve wheel load distribution, to reduce RCF damages and decouple the rail from the substructure. For this purpose, elastic intermediate plates, so-called pads, are arranged between ribbed base plates and contact surfaces, e.g. concrete sleepers, which can be adapted in their form and function to the conditions in the turnout. These can be equipped with differentiated spring stiffnesses according to the customer’s special requirements and objectives.

In contrast to the ERL 17.5 system, the ribbed base plate and the elastic intermediate plate are decoupled from the direct anchoring. An external base frame serves as a lateral and longitudinal form fit for the internal elasticity and ensures that the entire system is fixed and braced against the threshold.

A special feature of the ERL hV 15 system is that it can be adjusted horizontally by ±15 mm without replacing components to compensate for track widening or longitudinal track errors. A toothing enables corrections in increments of 1.5 mm.

Technical Specifications:

  • Typical area of application: conventional track systems on slab tracks
  • Axle load: max. 180 kN
  • Speed: ≤ 140 km/h
  • Vertical adjustability: ± 15 mm without replacing components
  • Horizontal adjustability: 4 to + 26 mm
  • Highly elastic ribbed plate bearing with defined preload
  • System bracing via conventional push-through screw connection (hexagon head screw)
  • Variable static intermediate plate rigidity - 8 to 30 kN/mm
  • Material of elastic intermediate plate - rubber-metal connection (Cr-rubber compound)
