- 1873: Founding of the Hamm site – start of wire production.
- 1920s: Expansion of production facilities and specialization in steel wires.
- 1960s: Start of production of welding consumables, conversion to modern production technologies.
- 1987: Takeover by Böhler Welding, integration into the company's international network.
- 2000: Expansion of capacities for the production of solid wires and specialization in welding technology.
- 2008: To consolidate international market leadership, Hammer's production facilities were modernized with a focus on efficiency and quality improvement.
- 2011: Acquisition of Böhler Welding by voestalpine AG and integration of the Hamm site into the voestalpine Böhler Welding Group for a central role within the group.
- 2015: The market strategy pays off: In order to meet the rapidly growing demand in Europe and other global markets, production capacities for welding consumables were expanded and new alloys and highly specialized solid wires for demanding applications were introduced.
- 2017: Expansion of the Hamm site into a European logistics hub for voestalpine Böhler Welding through the establishment of a modern logistics system that enables fast and reliable deliveries to countries in Europe and beyond.
- 2019: Opening of the state-of-the-art Application Technology Center (ATC) in Hamm, introduction of innovative technologies such as 3D welding printing robots and state-of-the-art welding systems.
