voestalpine Texas LLC has successfully installed further noise reduction facilities

In an effort to sustain and further build good relationships with the immediate neighborhood, voestalpine Texas LLC is continuously upgrading its noise reduction facilities at its direct reduction plant in Portland. Despite short weather-related delays due to the impact of hurricane “Harvey”, voestalpine has now successfully installed additional noise protection measures on the works premises.

During the last week of September, in fact slightly earlier than recently announced, voestalpine has now installed further noise reduction facilities at its site in Portland including an additional large silencer on the main air blower, extra lagging and further equipment for pulsation damping of compressors. The latest installations already complete a second phase of noise reduction measures, after having installed two silencers along with orifice blades and flow straighteners earlier this year.

As an important employer and partner in the region, voestalpine Texas LLC is continuing its proactive engagement in the neighborhood and confident that the measures taken will show substantial positive effects for the community.
