In early June, a significant milestone was reached in the project’s progress: The first section of the EAF unit’s exhaust ducts was successfully installed. The installation of these complex components represents a key step in the overall implementation, as the exhaust ducts are crucial for the safe and efficient operation of the unit. The second phase of the installation is already planned and is scheduled to take place in early July.
The experts at the voestalpine site in Donawitz offered an in-depth interactive tour during the “Langer Tag der Energie”. The guided tours were fully booked, and the behind-the-scenes tour provided insights into current and future energy supply.
On Thursday, May 21, a significant milestone in the greentec steel transformation was celebrated at the Kammersäle Donawitz: the topping-out ceremony for the construction of the EAF plant (TMP1) in Donawitz. In addition to the project team, all participating partner companies were invited.
New voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH drone footage offers a fresh perspective on the construction site of the electric arc furnace (EAF) and visually documents the progress being made in the transformation process.
