On Thursday, May 21, a significant milestone in the greentec steel transformation was celebrated at the Kammersäle Donawitz: the topping-out ceremony for the construction of the EAF plant (TMP1) in Donawitz. In addition to the project team, all participating partner companies were invited.

The snow has melted, and temperatures are rising. We took this opportunity to capture some springtime scenes at our EAF construction site. Danieli & C. Officine Meccaniche S.p.A., headquartered in Buttrio near Udine, is one of the world’s leading suppliers of plant engineering solutions for the metallurgical industry. As part of the transformation, over 10,000 tons of plant equipment from Danieli are being installed in Donawitz—a significant milestone for the project. Subsequently, Martin Hadler, Andreas Bobolik, and Michael Fasching from the Plant Projects/Plant Expansion department report on the current status of the work and provide exciting insights into the successful collaboration with Danieli.
The fourth of a total of eight concrete construction packages was completed this summer. At the same time, as far as the steel construction goes, you can already see from a distance that an impressive soundproof wall has now been erected in front of the halls under construction—there’s a lot going on at the Donawitz plant site!
