Optimization of recirculating gas blower and blast furnace gas scrubber
At voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH, we strive to continuously improve our products and processes. The aim of project C114526 "Circulating gas blower, blast furnace gas scrubber", co-financed by federal funds and the European Regional Development Fund, was to further increase energy efficiency at the site. By promoting and implementing this measure, it was possible to significantly reduce energy requirements at the site.
We are grateful for the funding of this important project, which supports sustainable steel production at the Donawitz site.

System optimization of sintering process gas blowers
The environment and society are topics in which voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH plays an active role and drives the improvement of the environmental situation at the plant site with the further development of environmental measures.
The aim of voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH is therefore also to ensure sustainable steel production. It offers a comprehensive range of advanced production processes to make steel production as energy-efficient as possible and to reduce environmental emissions from sinter production.
Sinter is a key input material in the blast furnace process. As part of the environmental project, investments are being made in an energy-efficient sinter process gas blower, which will enable significantly more resource-efficient sinter production.
