Electrical, flexible and efficient

The voestalpine Steel Division attaches high importance to employee flexibility in combination with a high level of environmental awareness. The company bought a Renault ZOE car, which is 100% electrically powered, for journeys made for work purposes in and around the voestalpine premises.

The Renault ZOE, which is powered by a 59 hp electric engine, has to be charged at one of voestalpine's charging stations. In just three hours, the vehicle is fully charged and has a range of about 150 km. Its equipment and safety is of the same standard as a modern hatchback and has room for five passengers. In other words, the vehicle can be used for car pooling and as such takes sustainability concerns into consideration.

Since the voestalpine Steel Division itself supplies non-grain oriented electrical strips for ultra-efficient electric drive motors, making this purchase was a logical step. The ultra-efficient isovac® electrical strip is the epitome of premium quality as a result of the decades of experience gained by voestalpine in electrical strip production, and is setting energy benchmarks for the future through joint innovation efforts with customers.
