Railpro anti-trespass panels - successfully placed in Belgium!

In the middle of the night, on March 12-13, as the world was captivated by the spreading of the coronavirus, two of our colleagues, along with Belgian national railway operator Infrabel and contractor Progest, were keeping busy with something entirely different; how to make railroad crossings in Belgium safer. 

Anti-trespass panels, or PRISMA panels, are a preventive means that make it difficult for people to enter the tracks. These rubber mats are placed between and next to the rails in so-called hotspots, such as railroad crossings and train stations.

Belgium also deals with a lot of trespassers and suicidal people. Especially around the hotspots. People who are in a hurry, left home too late and still want to catch the next train or just want to walk their dog. Convenience often beats safety. Level crossing trees are ignored. In order to reach the station faster, they walk on the tracks or along the railroad crossing. Sometimes resulting in death. Suicide in Belgium is also an area of concern. This not only results in a huge financial inconvenience for operators, but also the human loss of such tragedy is immeasurable.

Our anti-trespass panels are qualified by Belgian railway operator Infrabel. Because of their light weight, these anti-trespass panels were placed in record time mid-March. In addition, no heavy machinery is required. The panel is easy to lift, handy and easy to install.

The main goal is to discourage people from entering the tracks, therefore making railroads safer. With thanks to the anti-trespass panels, trespassers are discouraged to enter the tracks.
