greentec steel Construction Site News: Drone footage offers a spectacular view

2 May 2026 |

New voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH drone footage offers a fresh perspective on the construction site of the electric arc furnace (EAF) and visually documents the progress being made in the transformation process.

As part of the ongoing construction work around the EAF construction site and the associated equipment, extensive and diverse steel construction work is currently being carried out.

This ranges from the fabrication and installation of load-bearing steel structures, including welding, bolting, and riveting, to the construction of buildings, staircases, railings, and industry-specific steel structures such as machine foundations. This is supplemented by corrosion protection measures and ongoing maintenance work.

The current focus is on plant and piping installation, which is proceeding with high intensity and precision. At the same time, preparations for electrical installation are underway and set to begin shortly.

Currently, the EAF construction site presents a very dynamic overall picture: numerous trades are working in parallel and in close coordination on the project’s implementation. The close interconnection of all work steps underscores the importance of the collaboration among all participating teams and impressively demonstrates the level of performance that can be achieved through joint planning and implementation.
