New production hall in Fontaine

voestalpine Automotive Components Fontaine is putting a new production hall into operation with a ceremonial opening on May 22, 2025. The new building with a total area of 3,000 m² marks an important milestone in the strategic realignment of the site as part of the Automotive Components Group's RESTART reorganization project.

Around 2,700 m² of the new hall is intended for the assembly business, in which medium-sized assemblies are manufactured for European, and in particular French, automotive and commercial vehicle customers. Two modern assembly systems are already in operation and a third is currently under construction.

The total investment for the new hall amounts to 5.1 million euros - including a state-of-the-art photovoltaic system with an area of 1,800 m². This sustainable energy supply is a further step towards CO2-reduced production in line with the CO2untdown to zero - the Metal Forming Division's plan to generate 0% CO2emissions by 2035. The construction time was just fourteen months.

With this expansion, the Fontaine site is specifically strengthening its role in the voestalpine Automotive Components Group's production network. The new hall not only offers space for additional production capacity, but also meets the highest standards in terms of occupational safety and productivity.

One concrete success of this strategic investment: the Fontaine site recently secured an important new customer order - proof of the plant's competitiveness and innovative strength.
