Combustion Valve Function

In an internal combustion engine, valves control the flow of air-fuel mixture and exhaust gases within the combustion chamber. There are typically two types:

  • Intake valve: Opens to allow the air-fuel mixture into the chamber.
  • Exhaust valve: Opens to release burnt gases after combustion.

These valves operate in sync with the camshaft, opening and closing at precise times during the engine’s four-stroke cycle (intake, compression, power, exhaust). They must withstand high temperatures, pressure, and mechanical stress, making material quality critical for performance and durability.
