PVD coating systems

PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coatings have been used for years in almost all markets and industries to improve the durability and performance of tools and components of various kinds.

PVD coatings are formed in a high vacuum by converting metal into a vapor state and simultaneously adding a reaction gas. By using different temperatures (from 200 °C) we can deposit layer thicknesses of 2-8 µm.

PVD hard coating at eifeler is performed almost exclusively by means of arc evaporation at temperatures of < 450 ° C

Arc process technology is used to achieve excellent bond strength without loss of hardness, distortion or change in the microstructure of the base material.

The PVD sputtering technique is used for the DLC coatings and the MoX2 solid lubricant coating.
The coating is applied here at approx. 200 ° C.

This results in the following advantages for you :

  • Combinations with friction-reducing coatings possible
  • variable layer structure (nanostructures, multilayer, monolayer)
  • Chemical and mechanical decoating possible
  • Very good adhesion to the substrate
  • very good impression of textured and polished surfaces
  • Very good dimensional stability and contour accuracy
  • no drop in hardness
  • no influence on the microstructure with suitable material selection
