As a leading global technology and industrial goods group with combined materials and processing expertise, we are always on the lookout for the right employees to drive innovation with us. Interesting areas of responsibility, exciting projects, individual advancement, further training and the opportunity to help shape the company make us an attractive employer and work at voestalpine varied and exciting.

International group with know-how

Our approximately 50,000 employees in over 50 countries make us what we are: Quality and world market leader in many segments. We encounter numerous steel projects and products in everyday life, testifying to the innovative strength of our company and our employees: Tourists visit the Atomium in Brussels, soccer fans cheer on Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, journalists marvel at the presentation of a new luxury car in Rome, and at the same moment tourists visit the world’s tallest building, the Burj Dubai. What do these events have in common? All of them contain steel products from voestalpine! The career opportunities in our Group are very diverse and exciting!

Employees as co-creators

Every three years, we conduct an employee survey and examine the working environment at voestalpine. A high level of loyalty, great identification and pride in working for this company is both confirmation and motivation for us to continue and further develop the successful path with numerous initiatives. The obligatory annual employee review, in which employees exchange views with their direct managers on an equal footing, is an important element in promoting enjoyment of work and identification with our products. Another key to success are the training and development measures resulting from the employee appraisals: In fiscal 2016/17 alone, we invested more than 50 million euros in training and development for our employees.

Employees as co-owners

Our employees also participate in the company’s success – through the unique employee share ownership program. 14.8 % of the share capital is in the hands of employees in Austria, Germany, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Switzerland – the legal framework for further international expansion is being examined on an ongoing basis.

We are proud, committed, innovative & motivated

A special “spirit” can be felt at voestalpine – even if this is pronounced differently at the various locations and is “colored” by socio-cultural factors. Our voestalpine “spirit” is best explained by these four concrete examples:

The joy of innovation

All voestalpine products contain the joy of innovation. This has made us the technology and world market leader in numerous sectors. Es ist dieser Antrieb, Produkte und Prozesse ständig besser machen zu wollen, denn Gutes ist uns nie gut genug.

A culture of appreciation

We take care to treat each other with respect. We are on our way to creating a culture in which we actively listen to each other, respect performance, give feedback, and allow both praise and criticism. We work on that every day.

Our commitment to excellence

Great things cannot be created in the comfort zone. It requires the willingness to make an effort, to perform and to develop one’s potential. This is exactly what we expect from our employees.

Learning as the basis for success

Lifelong learning is an educational program at voestalpine. In the annual employee review with the respective manager, individual wishes and the needs of the company are brought together for overall success.
