Paper, pulp and printing components require BÖHLER steels with high wear resistance, corrosion protection, and surface quality. Key quality features include ultra-clean materials, full traceability, controlled heat treatment, and rigorous testing for reliable performance.
Components used in the paper, pulp, and printing industry are exposed to demanding operating conditions including high mechanical stress, continuous contact with fibrous materials, chemicals, humidity, and abrasive particles. Applications such as rolls, cutting elements, doctor blades, and processing equipment require materials that ensure consistent performance, surface quality, and long service life. Material requirements therefore focus on high wear resistance, corrosion resistance, fatigue strength, and dimensional stability, as well as resistance to abrasive and chemical attack. In addition, excellent surface finish and smoothness are essential to guarantee product quality and process efficiency.
BÖHLER high-performance steels and alloys are specifically engineered to meet these requirements. Advanced tool steels, stainless steels, and alloyed grades provide an optimized balance of hardness, toughness, and corrosion resistance. Produced using advanced melting and refining technologies, BÖHLER materials ensure superior cleanliness, low inclusion content, and homogeneous microstructures, enabling reliable and stable performance. Key quality features include strict control of chemical composition, certified traceability, and precisely controlled heat treatment processes to achieve defined mechanical and surface properties. Comprehensive testing, including wear resistance, corrosion behavior, and non-destructive inspection, ensures consistent quality. BÖHLER materials support efficient, durable, and high-quality solutions in paper, pulp, and printing applications.
BÖHLER L625 is a non-magnetizable corrosion and heat resistant nickel alloy in the form of bars, forgings and semi-finished products up to max 254 mm diameter/ cross-section and oxidation resistant up to 1093°C. Best fatigue strength and resistance to stress corrosion cracking when exposed to chloride containing media. Good weldability.
