As part of the "Roadmap 2 Zero" sustainability strategy, voestalpine Wire Austria is providing an important technological impetus with a pilot project: an innovative water-to-water heat pump was successfully put into operation as a pilot plant at the Bruck an der Mur site. The aim of the project is to use waste heat from the cooling water to generate energy, replace fossil fuels such as natural gas and at the same time make sensible use of surplus electrical energy from the company's own hydropower and photovoltaic system.

As part of a pioneering STEM project, HTL students and primary school children from the region were able to experience the world of technology up close - in a practical, creative and enthusiastic way. The use of intermodal transportation solutions will make delivery traffic even more efficient and environmentally friendly in the future. The aim is to create a sustainable and economically profitable transportation solution for voestalpine Wire Rod Austria GmbH's wire rod. This is supplied to voestalpine Fastening Systems GmbH, for example, for the manufacture of steel clips in the railroad industry.

At the award ceremony in Graz on March 13, 2025, the commitment to health and well-being in the workplace was once again recognized. The company health management (BGM) of the two companies voestalpine Wire Austria GmbH and voestalpine Wire Rod Austria GmbH was awarded the BGF seal of approval by the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) for the third time.
