With Roadmap 2 Zero, voestalpine Wire Technology is pursuing a structured path to decarbonization:
These are the key levers on the path to net zero emissions by 2040 (Scope 1+2) and by 2050 (Scope 3).
Renewable energy sources are gradually being established in production of our wire products. In combination with targeted measures to increase efficiency, this will make a significant contribution to reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.
The use of CO₂-reduced steel pre-materials ensures significantly lower emissions throughout the entire process chain. We work closely together with our suppliers to ensure end-to-end sustainability.
For us, the steel scrap is not waste, but a valuable raw material. In steel production, our suppliers are increasingly relying on high-quality recycled material - a key contribution to save resources and reduce CO₂ emissions. This forms the basis of a sustainable, circular process chain.
We are working on product-related CO₂ balancing to provide our customers with precise climate data for each wire product - transparent, comparable and certified. Site-specific CO₂ balances are already available.
At voestalpine Wire Technology, sustainability is firmly anchored in the innovation process. Whether in the development of new wire materials, efficient process technologies, or digital solutions, our goal is to reduce CO₂ emissions and increase the performance of our products.
