I have been part of the team since January 2021 and became aware of group-IT via a career portal. After my master's degree in mathematics, I did an internship with a data protection and IT security officer and then started as a data scientist in a software vendor start-up and in another company in the compliance area. In the previous companies, I was not able to live out my focus on cybersecurity, which I can now do well here at group-IT.
I have already gained a lot of positive experience at group-IT in a short time. A special highlight for me was the "Security Trip", where we went to all locations and exchanged ideas with the employees on site. The first ISO27001 audit that I organized and the workshop on reorganization with colleagues and managing directors were also very exciting for me. and you really learn a lot.
The varied tasks, the opportunity for further training and the flexible working hours are the highlights of my job for me. I also particularly like the cooperation with my colleagues and the respectful atmosphere in the team. What I also particularly appreciate is the employee participation and home office options that group-IT offers. In IT security in particular, you always have to stay up to date, which is why further training is so valuable here.
I can only recommend that anyone starting out in their career simply try things out. You can then see what you enjoy and should also have the courage to apply for jobs where you don't fit the job profile 100%. This is especially true for women, who should have the self-confidence to take this step. It is important to dare to go new ways.
