This is how your application process works:

Go to voestalpine’s online job portal where you will find all current job vacancies at voestalpine group-IT. Is there anything that sounds right for you? In that case, apply directly on the portal!

If your application meets the requirements of the posted job profile, the competent manager will call you and invite you to a first interview. This first interview will usually be conducted online. However, a personal interview on site can also be arranged.

If this leads to a second interview, it will preferably be conducted on site with the manager and a representative from Human Resources. The focus of this meeting will be on getting to know each other in person and on defining the terms of employment.

If both parties are in agreement in all essential aspects, your recruitment will be approved and an employment contract will be concluded. Welcome to voestalpine group-IT!

But what happens now?

As a new employee, you will be assigned a mentor to help you get started, right from the first day on the job. In addition to providing technical induction training, your mentor also helps with social integration.

New perspectives through interaction as equals: this is what you will gain from exchanging experience with the experts in your team.

Rookie Days

We also have regular “Rookie Days”. These are designed to provide newcomers with a general picture of our company, our services and tools. They are also a good opportunity to get to know each other. As part of these Rookie Days, our location in Linz also offers a guided tour of the “voestalpine Stahlwelt” and a tour of the company’s premises during which you can experience steel production from up close.

  • Current job vacancies can be found directly on the website of voestalpine group-IT under Career. Clicking the “To the job offers” button takes you to the online job portal where all current vacancies and the pertinent tasks and requirements are displayed in a clearly structured format. You can narrow down your search by means of various filters or, alternatively, by means of the Job Map, in order to pinpoint relevant job vacancies.  

    You can apply directly below the job posting, which allows us to process your application quickly. Alternatively, you can also submit an unsolicited application.

  • You will be asked to enter your personal details and your education history, but also, depending on the type of posted job position, certain qualifications and work experience on the online application form. Completing the form should take no more than 15 minutes of your time.

    It will be even faster with our CV parsing function which optionally scans your resume once it has been uploaded and automatically pre-populates some fields of the form with data retrieved from your resume. We strive to gain a comprehensive impression of every applicant through the application process. Therefore, we appreciate any detailed information you provide beyond the mandatory fields.

    Once you have completed your application, you will be issued personal login credentials for the job portal and receive an e-mail message with a confirmation link.

    Please note! Only after you have confirmed this link will your application actually be sent and become visible to us.

  • Are there no current job offers that match your expectations and qualifications? If so, we look forward to receiving your unsolicited application via the unsolicited application link. It is important that you state that you are interested in working at voestalpine group-IT.

    There is also the option of subscribing to a “job alert” in order to receive regular e-mail notifications about current job vacancies that meet the selected criteria.

  • If a manager does not have any suitable vacancy but finds a profile interesting and would like to share it with other managers, this can be done via the talent pool, provided that you have given your consent. Obviously, this will increase your chances of getting a job at voestalpine group-IT.

    The voestalpine Group also has a group-wide applicant pool. There, an applicant’s profile can be shared as well, provided that the applicant has given their consent.

  • Yes, you can. With a single registration, you can complete multiple online application forms for different job vacancies at the same time. Using the CV parsing function will speed up filling in a few mandatory fields. By uploading your resume in the relevant upload field, some of the fields in the application form will automatically be pre-populated with data from your resume.

  • If you are interested in an apprenticeship program at voestalpine group-IT, go to Career – Entry-level options – Apprenticeships for detailed information. You can submit your application on the group-wide website Apprenticeship at voestalpine. The available apprenticeship programs at voestalpine group-IT are:

    • Information Technology – Systems Engineering
    • Application Development – Coding
    • Industrial Clerk

    In order to give our apprentices an idea of the various activities at voestalpine group-IT, they are rotated through five different departments (technical: Service Desk, Workplace Management or Server; commercial: Purchasing, Sales, Secretarial Services, etc.) in the first two years of their apprenticeships. Following that, they will specialize in a specific field, according to their interests and abilities. More information can be found under Career – Entry-level options – Apprenticeships.

  • Yes, we do! From November to the end of January, you can find job offers for summer jobs on the job portal so that you can submit your application for the respective following summer.

    In order to make sure that your application reaches voestalpine group-IT, please indicate in the comments field that you would like to be employed by voestalpine group-IT. In addition, you can include the company address of group-IT in your cover letter which you need to upload online. It is also possible to submit an unsolicited application for internships and summer jobs.

    Summer jobbers are employed during the summer vacation period spanning the months of July, August, and September. The minimum duration of a summer job is one month. However, if you are interested in staying longer, this is also possible.

  • Yes, voestalpine group-IT also offers specialist internships. In most cases, such internships are for periods of 3-6 months. They can be done on a voluntary basis, but also as a mandatory internship as required by technical schools, universities of applied sciences, etc. Positions for specialist internships are available in the fields of Software Development, IT Infrastructure, and Cyberecurity, as well as in commercial units. Therefore, it is important that you indicate the desired specialization in the cover letter of your application.

  • voestalpine group-IT is primarily looking for graduates of IT-related study programs such as Computer Science, Software Development, Business Informatics, or Cybersecurity. Nevertheless, we are also looking for graduates of commercial and other technical study programs.
