On October 19, 2023, the voestalpine HTL Challenge took place for the first time at the Linz site, organized by the voestalpine Steel Division in cooperation with voestalpine group-IT. Students from Upper Austrian technical schools specializing in engineering or IT competed against each other in teams in various challenges.
The tasks required teamwork, dexterity, appropriate engineering or IT know-how, problem-solving skills and speed, among other things. We also took the opportunity to give the students a practical insight into our working world and actively supported several challenges.
At the end of the day, the three best teams were awarded prizes for their achievements. The main prize, an evening of bowling, went to HTL Linz LiTec. In addition to the winning groups, some other exceptional talents were also able to celebrate: participants who stood out due to their particular commitment were able to take home a "wild card" for a job interview or have already received a firm commitment for a summer internship at voestalpine.
The HTL Challenge was a complete success for everyone involved — we are looking forward to the promising interns and hopefully to a continuation next year!
