Full-solutions supplier in the profile wire sector

28 May 2021 |

As an integrated manufacturer, voestalpine Wire Austria, located in Bruck an der Mur, offers complete wire solutions from a single source.

voestalpine Wire Austria GmbH

At our plant, we manufacture high-quality sophisticated wire solutions using an integrated production chain, extending from the ore through to the finished wire product.

Our product portfolio includes

We have cutting-edge wire drawing facilities with innovative testing equipment to ensure that products meet the highest quality standards. We also provide state-of-the-art annealing plants and a large number of surface treatment lines, guaranteeing the ideal material properties of our wires.

Full-solutions supplier in the profile wire sector

With its expanded range of wire cross-sections and an annual capacity expansion of 1,200 tonnes, the new investment in a rolling line for profiles (KPWA 7) enables voestalpine Wire Technology Group's production site in Bruck / Mur to become a full-solutions supplier in the profile wire sector for key customers.

The new facility is extremely flexible and ensures access to new markets. The KPWA 7 expands the dimensional range of our profile wires, now starting at 2 mm² instead of 6 mm² wire cross-section, and opens up additional fields of application with an extraordinary height to width ratio.

Our drawn and rolled flat and shaped wire with cross sections of around 2 mm² to 200 mm² meet the very highest quality standards. We manufacture a wide variety of profiles including rectangular and trapezoidal shaped wire, flat wire, square-cut and semicircular wire, as well as customized shapes for a variety of potential applications.

In addition, we are further increasing surface quality, thus being optimally equipped for the high demands of our customers. Together with the customer, we fine-tune the underlying steel alloy and optimize the processing, for example, in terms of fatigue strength or corrosion resistance.

By using computer simulation to define the ideal design of the production route regarding the used material and geometry requirements, we are able to develop new special profiles in the shortest possible time. Therefore, significantly reducing the "time to market".
