Long Night of Research 2026

30 April 2026 |

This year, the Long Night of Research at the voestalpine Tubulars site took place on April 24, 2026, and was attended by a total of 130 visitors. The majority of them participated in one of the three guided tours offered, gaining exciting insights into the processes and procedures involved in the production of high‑tech seamless pipes.

The central meeting and starting point for all tours was the brand‑new technical center. Visitors were impressed by the production at the seamless tube rolling mill, as well as by the hollow sections finishing line and the testing center, where the application of our products in the hydrogen segment was highlighted in particular. Guided tours of these three facilites were available every hour from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Snacks were also provided, allowing guests to refresh themselves in between tours.

For many visitors, the heat in the hot-rolling mill, the fascinating production insights, the H2Tainer, the overall impression of the guided tours, and the exhibition of our products made the world of voestalpine Tubulars tangible and truly come to life.

During the course of the event, several guests took a picture at the photo booth located in the technical center and, at the end of the evening, picked up a small gift to take home.

    Visitor impressions:

It was very interesting to see everything live for once, as it is otherwise hard to imagine. Incredible how hot it is in the rolling mill.

Thank you for the great insights. The guided tours were excellent. You could really feel the enthusiasm of the guides.

This evening was truly an experience! Thank you for everything!

Overall, this year’s Long Night of Research was a great success, creating a high level of enthusiasm among the guests and leaving the on‑site team thoroughly satisfied.
