Girls’ Day 2026: Insights, hands-on experience and a passion for technology

5 May 2026 |

As part of this year’s annual Girls’ Day, we once again opened our doors to young girls interested in technology and industry. Similar to our Job Day – where we introduce potential apprentices to our company – the visitors spent a morning at voestalpine Tubulars, gaining hands-on insights across a wide range of departments and experiencing our working environment first-hand.

A varied and engaging program

The meeting point was at 7:45 a.m. at our main gate, where the young participants received a short safety briefing. The first stop was the heart of our production: the seamless tube rolling mill.

On site, the participants had the opportunity to experience the fascinating tube production process up close. Accompanied by our employees, they gained valuable insights into workflows, requirements, and the manufacturing of our products.

Following the plant tour, further departments were presented, including the mechanical workshop, electronical maintenance, the testing center and laboratory. This gave our guests a comprehensive overview of the diverse activities and processes at our Kindberg site.

Thanks to small hands-on exercises prepared by our employees, the participants were able to get actively involved and gain practical experience themselves. Welding was – as always – the absolute highlight. The girls were accompanied by Vanessa, our youth representative, who completed her own apprenticeship with us and was available at all times to answer questions.

The Girls’ Day concluded with a relaxed, shared snack and an informal exchange about the apprenticeships offered at the site, as well as a review of the impressions from the morning.

So, how did the Girls enjoy the experience?

Insights, inspiration and new plans for the future:

It was cool to finally see where my dad works and what he actually does every day.

I don’t know yet exactly which area I want to work in, but one thing is certain: I want to work at voestalpine Tubulars

I always thought I wanted to work with people, but today really showed me how versatile a skilled trade can be.
