Enter the Grid: A day at the voestalpine Stahlwelt
- 1
Following around 23 months of refurbishment, the voestalpine Stahlwelt reopened in June 2026. The winners of the employee campaign and their families were given the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of voestalpine and experience the reopened voestalpine Stahlwelt up close. Alongside the varied exhibition and an engaging puzzle booklet for children, the concluding tour of the plant premises in Linz was one of the highlights of the day.
Employees from Upper Austria, Lower Austria, and Styria were particularly impressed by the Grid, the centerpiece of the new exhibition concept: a suspended, walkable structure made from around 138 tons of steel, including 40 tons in the greentec steel Edition. It forms the spatial and thematic backbone of the new exhibition. As an open, interconnected system, it demonstrates what we stand for as voestalpine: technological excellence, innovative strength, and the transformation toward steel production with net-zero CO2 emissions.
