Congratulations on successful final apprenticeship exam results!

2023-04-03 |

Final apprenticeship examination 2023: Beaming faces at the presentation of certificates to apprentices at the Wire Technology sites in Bruck an der Mur and St. Peter/Freienstein.

We congratulate the future young professionals on their great performance, as well as the learning guides and all those responsible for passing on their knowledge and accompanying the trainees on their way with a great deal of responsibility.

I am very pleased that all of our apprentices were able to pass their final apprenticeship exams on their first attempt. With several awards and good results, this was an extremely strong performance by our wire (apprentices) this year! My thanks also go to both training centers in Donawitz and Kapfenberg, where all apprentices were again excellently prepared for the final apprenticeship exam this year, and to the entire management of Wire Technology for their support and appreciation of the apprentices' work!

Apprenticeship coordinator, Christian Saiger

voestalpine Wire Technology CEO Christian Pehmer, together with HR Manager Barbara Winkler and Maria Spanring (Human Resources Development), attended the awarding of certificates to the successful apprentices, all of whom will now be working as employees at the Bruck an der Mur and St. Peter/Freienstein sites.

In total, all nine apprentices at the two sites passed their final apprenticeship exams. Four apprentices achieved good success, and three apprentices even mastered the exam with excellent success.

Final apprenticeship exams were taken for the following apprenticeships:

  • Mechanical engineering technicians are mainly involved in the manufacture of machine parts as well as the assembly, installation and commissioning of machines and systems. Another important part of the job is maintenance, repair and servicing work. Welding work is also carried out as part of the mechanical engineering technician training.

    • Apprenticeship period 3.5 years
  • The most exciting manufacturing processes are open to you here. In this job you bring workpieces to perfection by turning, milling and grinding with CNC-controlled machines. Machinists are involved in the planning, production and machining of workpieces. They use cutting processes such as drilling, milling, turning, filing and grinding to produce a variety of components and machine parts. These axles, shafts, bearings, bolts, wedges, gears or pulleys keep operations running.

    • Apprenticeship 3.5 years
  • Electrical engineers plan, assemble, install, maintain and repair a wide range of electrical and electronic devices and systems, such as control and regulation systems, alarm systems and monitoring systems,
electrical doors and gates, electrical building installations (power lines)
    and industrial machinery.

The challenge is particularly great in plant and systems engineering,
as it involves working with different high- and low-voltage systems
and ever new technologies require electrical engineers to be extremely flexible and
    and specialized knowledge.

    Duration of training: 3.5 years

  • Materials engineers carry out mechanical, chemical and physical tests on materials such as iron, steel, aluminum or plastic. You test hardness, density, resilience, elasticity, heat resistance or compressive strength. You will use measuring devices and equipment to apply various test methods, document the test results and evaluate them.

    Apprenticeship period 3 years

Congratulations to all involved especially to our new young professionals!
