voestalpine Tubulars products for first deep geothermal project in Vienna

The start of deep geothermal drilling for one of the most important milestones on the way to a climate-neutral heat supply for Vienna took place in December 2024. We are supplying the Deeep project, a joint venture between OMV and Wien Energie, with high-quality seamless steel pipes including our environmentally friendly DryTec^® thread coating.

Our team was on site and was able to experience the deep geothermal plant

The continuous exchange with our customer OMV has resulted in a close partnership based on trust. It enables us to understand the specific requirements of deep geothermal energy for our products even better. It was a special experience to see the well in action and gain further insights.
