In our new spot, you can see how our pipes withstand demanding geological and climatic challenges – and why they are valued worldwide as a reliable solution. A key component of these solutions are our employees, who support our customers and partners with their dedication and expertise. In the new spot, several of our employees take center stage, offering authentic insights into their professional everyday lives and exciting projects around the globe.

Saudi Arabia

Due to the fact that Saudi Arabia is one of our largest customers in the oil and gas industry, it was chosen as the filming location - with the aim of showing how our pipes perform under extreme conditions in the desert. Michael Zucker, Area Manager OCTG Middle East, accompanied the shoot on site and took on the role of the protagonist. Although he travels to Saudi Arabia several times a year to visit his customers, this trip was particularly memorable due to the filming of the new “Performance in Tubulars” spot.

Heat and sand challenged both our team and our technology - the equipment needed regular breaks in the air-conditioned car to prevent overheating. Since our drone was not allowed to be imported and strict rules apply to the airspace, a licensed drone pilot had to be organized on-site at short notice. However, thanks to good coordination and some helpful local assistants, this challenge was quickly resolved.

Michael Zucker on filming in Saudi Arabia:

Filming under extreme conditions – an example of teamwork, flexibility, and the global use of our products.

    Semmering, Austria

Holger Raspotnig, Manager Sales Industrial Pipes Global, usually visits customers in offices, warehouses, or production facilities. For this project, however, he traveled with the film crew deep into the depths of the Semmering Base Tunnel to gain exciting insights into the complex processes and geological challenges of tunnel construction.

In order to capture the breakthrough work for our commercial, the team was taken far into the tunnel by car. The labyrinth of countless tunnel passages and the size of the construction machinery were impressive and provided the perfect backdrop for our film project.

What Holger Raspotnig thinks about the new spot by voestalpine Tubulars:

We should present more customer projects so that employees and customers can gain a better insight into our products, their areas of application, and our expertise.

      Monfalcone, Italy

Kevin Wattala coordinates the daily shipment of our products to North America and is occasionally on site for special projects - such as here in Monfalcone, where our vessels are being loaded for their destination port in Baltimore. This is where precise planning is put into practice - on a grand scale.

For the shoot, two employees traveled with the film crew from Kindberg to Italy at 3 a.m. Upon arrival at the port, they were warmly welcomed by the port staff and were able to capture the loading process from a variety of perspectives. In addition to the diverse loading scenes, we were especially pleased that even the captain took the time to offer us a behind-the-scenes look at his ship through an interview.

Kevin Wattala describes the day of filming in the port of Monfalcone:

The scale and operations at the port are impressive, and the visit confirms that we can rely 100% on our local service providers.

        Grande Praire, Canada

The protagonist in Canada was Christina Midl, who, together with his team, is responsible for the marketing at voestalpine Tubulars and was therefore also involved in shaping the "Performance in Tubulars"-Spot. Her daily work as Director of Public Relations & Corporate Development goes far beyond the usual office activities - video shoots and marketing-related work in production bring variety around the globe and this time led her to Canada.

At the time of filming, the area around Calgary was affected by nearby forest fires, which meant that air and light quality had to be constantly monitored. Fortunately, however, filming was able to take place without delays and the installation of our pipes was documented on camera. The team on site was very cooperative with all filming requirements, which meant that we were able to film all the preparations and the installation itself from different angles.

Christina Stanta on filming in Canada:

During filming, it became clear once again how important strong customer relationships are - because without the support of our customers, much of the script would not have been possible.

          Krummhörn, Germany

As Director of Business Development & Strategy, Bernhard Frieß accompanied the filming in Germany at the new hydrogen storage cavern. In his role, he is responsible for the development of new segments and products, such as hydrogen solutions, and occasionally visits drilling sites in person. During the filming, he was introduced to a new facility – the so-called “Snubbing Unit” – which is specialized in handling underground storage systems. This unique facility, which differs significantly from conventional drilling and workover units, was a particular highlight in combination with the expressive landscape of East Frisia.

Especially in Europe, filming and visiting such a project is not a matter of course. Thanks to the cooperation of all the companies involved, we were nevertheless able to capture some exciting scenes.

This is how Bernhard Frieß remembers the film shoot:

It was an exciting opportunity to get to know a type of facility that was new to us and gain valuable insight into the requirements for our products. We also had the chance to see a pilot cavern for underground hydrogen storage on site. Many thanks to our partners Uniper Energy Storage, DEEP.KBB, and Balance Point Control (BPC) for their excellent cooperation on site.
