voestalpine Foundry Group receives "ResponsibleSteel" certificate

As one of the first steel companies worldwide, the voestalpine Steel Division in Linz has now been officially certified as a sustainable production site by the non-profit organization "ResponsibleSteel". As a subsidiary of the Steel Division, the voestalpine Foundry Group also makes an important contribution to this certification.

ResponsibleSteel is the first global certification initiative in the field of sustainability for the steel industry and is based on twelve principles. To be awarded with a certificate, the entire Linz site had to pass a detailed audit by the independent certification company LRQA. A requirement for the award was the fulfillment of 200 criteria, such as the responsible procurement of raw materials, the reduction of CO2 emissions or the handling of employee and human rights. The decision was then made by an independent committee.

Sustainability and the reduction of CO2 emissions have been a clear focus at voestalpine Foundry Group for a while.   Various priority projects along the entire production chain focus on supporting the company's sustainable orientation and achieving the environmental goals voestalpine has set.
