Exercise, Teamwork, and Social Engagement: Collecting cares at the Linz Donau Marathon

Collecting cares together

Since the launch of this year’s voestalpine cares run on March 1, our employees worldwide have been collecting digital points – so-called cares – through a wide variety of physical activities. The Linz Donau Marathon was once again an important milestone for collectively reaching as many cares as possible and thereby unlocking donations for international aid projects.

The relay starts were particularly popular once again, as were the goodie bags for participating runners, which many colleagues were happy to pick up. The positive atmosphere along the route and in the start and finish areas demonstrated once again how much motivation collective commitment can generate.

Trophies made by voestalpine

As part of the partnership, we once again provided the victory trophies this year. These were manufactured using state-of-the-art technology – from development through to production. As in previous years, additional trophies were created in collaboration with our apprentices at the Linz site, impressively demonstrating the wealth of expertise and enthusiasm embedded in our training programs.

Cares were collected not only in Linz but worldwide during the marathon weekend: while running, walking, hiking, handcycling, or using a wheelchair. Every movement counts and is converted into donations. On April 12 alone, this resulted in 12.378 cares worth 4.584 euros.

The Linz Donau Marathon thus impressively demonstrated once again in 2026 how sports, team spirit, and social commitment go hand in hand—and how much we can achieve together.
