voestalpine Nortrak Birmingham Alabama Plants Celebrate Safety Achievement
On October 20, 2016 the employees of the Birmingham plants celebrated a safety milestone attaining two consecutive years without a recordable accident at either facility.
This achievement represents the longest period that any track work plant in the company has worked injury free. The employees enjoyed a steak dinner with all the trimmings at the plant. Plant Manager, Drew Hankins thanked the assembled group for their safe work practices and challenged the Birmingham team to make it three years. This is the fifth time the Birmingham plants have been recognized for injury free in excess of one year. Birmingham’s exceptional safety performance is the result of the employee participation in residual risk reduction activities, behavior based safety audits, safety training, and living by the U.C.A.R.E . safety principles every day.
