SafeGuard Guard Rail Fastener

Less Risk. Proven Performance. A Better Way to Install Guard Rails.

A safer approach to guard rail installation. SafeGuard eliminates the e-clip beneath the guard bar, reducing installation risks while delivering proven performance, equivalent toe load, and reliable service in Class I railroad applications.

Safer Guard Rail Installation

Many conventional guard rail fastening systems require installers to swing a hammer in a confined space beneath the guard bar. This places a hand in the line of fire and can create the risk of projectile fasteners if the clip is not fully engaged.

SafeGuard eliminates the e-clip beneath the guard bar and replaces it with an innovative retention spring design installed perpendicular to the rail base. The result is a safer and simpler installation process that reduces employee exposure to common installation hazards.

Proven Field Performance

SafeGuard was developed to improve installation safety while delivering the same reliable fastening performance railroads expect from guard rail systems. The design provides toe load equivalent to existing fastener designs and has successfully passed extensive fatigue testing exceeding 40 million cycles. Thousands of SafeGuard units are currently installed in Class I railroad service.
