voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak LLC (“Nortrak”) and Sicut North America Inc. (“Sicut”) have launched a collaboration to deliver integrated special trackwork solutions with Engineered Polymer Composite crossties for freight railroads and passenger customers throughout North America.

The collaboration brings together Nortrak’s leading position in complex, high-value and safety-critical special trackwork system solutions with Sicut’s position as a global market leader in Engineered Polymer Composite (EPC) crossties to provide customers with proven in track performance and an expanded range of technical and commercial options to meet mission critical railway infrastructure needs.

The companies will jointly support customers with track design, site evaluation, engineering reviews, pilot installations and delivery of integrated products with North American based manufacturing to move beyond individual product supply towards complete solution delivery and whole-life value.

At its heart is a simple objective: combine proven products, proven engineering and proven in-track performance to deliver better solutions – while keeping customer choice at the centre.

voestalpine Railway Systems will establish a special trackwork manufacturing facility in Thorold, Ontario, Canada, through its newly formed subsidiary voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak Canada (vaRSN Canada). The company has entered into a long-term agreement with Canadian National (CN) to supply special trackwork manufactured in Canada. This strategic partnership underscores both companies’ commitment to strengthening Canadian railway infrastructure and delivering high quality, domestically produced solutions intended to support supply chain resilience.
