The CO2UNTDOWN has started

We are committed to making a positive impact on climate change. That’s why we started the CO2UNTDOWN TO ZERO—with the goal of reducing our production carbon emissions to 0% by 2035. We have an extensive catalog of measures and the first major projects have already been implemented.

Our photovoltaic systems actively reduce carbon emissions

By switching to renewable energies, each site now makes its own significant contribution to our CO2UNTDOWN TO ZERO, for example by installing photovoltaic systems on roofs to generate green energy. voestalpine Automotive Components Bunschoten (the Netherlands) has set an impressive example with 35,000 solar panels installed over an area the size of eight soccer fields. These panels cover a significant portion of the site’s own electricity needs while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions.

Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for phs products

The certified EPDs allow the voestalpine Automotive Components sites to provide the carbon footprint of phs-components. These high-strength, press-hardened phs-components doubly contribute to carbon reduction since they also help reduce weight in automotive construction.

Employees contribute their ideas

The entire workforce supports and actively helps shape the CO2UNTDOWN TO ZERO. All employees proactively contribute ideas from their own areas of activity. Based on their specialty expertise, they know best how and where to reduce carbon emissions in order to achieve the common goal. Our employees are also ambassadors for the initiative and are contributing to greater environmental awareness outside the workplace.
