As a specialist in the Data Center, I have a very diverse range of responsibilities. I take care of the operation and management of Data Centers and Data Rooms in Austria, ensuring their continuous development, maintenance, and maximum availability.
Furthermore, I handle building and facility-related issues, as well as tasks concerning efficient and fail-safe power supply and cooling for the data centers. Organizing access management and risk management are also part of my responsibilities.
Incident & Problem Management, emergency power facilities, cost optimization, these are just a few keywords from my daily routine. Additionally, I am also involved in project and process management. I oversee processes from conception and implementation to compliance checks and continuous improvement.
As you can see – a broad and varied range of tasks that I find very enjoyable. I started as a Data Center Specialist during my third year of apprenticeship at group-IT. My apprenticeship in Information Technology/System Engineering started in September 2018. I became aware of the apprenticeship opportunity through an acquaintance, and IT has always interested me.
My first station during my apprenticeship was the Service Desk. There, I gained a good overview of the IT structure and processes within the company, and I also gained my first experiences in direct customer contact. A part of the apprenticeship is, that you rotate within the company, meaning you work in different departments for a certain time period. This opportunity allows you to gather a variety of experiences and build your expertise. I don't know any other company where this would have been possible!
Thanks to my apprenticeship, I already know many colleagues within the company. At group-IT, there's a relaxed atmosphere, and everyone is always helpful.
