Division Steel is the biggest unit of the voestalpine group and accounts for 49% of the group's total sales.

Products

This division produces and processes hot and cold-rolled steel as well as electrolytically galvanized, hot-dip galvanized, organically coated plate and electrical sheet steel. It also has other related activities such as a foundry, heavy plate production, steel service center processing, steel trading, logistics services and mechatronics. The main divisional company and largest operative enterprise is voestalpine Stahl GmbH in Linz.

Customers and Markets

The products of the Division Steel are mainly supplied to the European automotive and automotive supply industry, the household appliances industry as well as the building supply industry. In these sectors voestalpine is one of the leading European suppliers. It mainly supplies less-cyclical customers in premium segments. Approximately 60 % of sales are generated on the basis of long-term contracts (for a duration of six months or longer).
