We are on the right track: ResponsibleSteel, a world-renowned non-profit organization, has officially recognized the Linz-based voestalpine Steel Division as a sustainable manufacturing site. This gives us a big reason to celebrate as well as an additional incentive to achieve further goals.
200 CRITERIA? CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
We grow with challenges: We are one of the world's first steelmaking companies to meet 200 sustainability criteria of ResponsibleSteel that revolve around products, people and the environment. In concrete terms, this includes the responsible procurement of raw materials, the reduction of CO2 emissions in steel production and the treatment of employee rights.
A LOT OF STEEL COMES WITH A LOT OF RESPONSIBILITY
The first-time award in this new global certification initiative shows that responsibility for society and the environment plays a central role in the corporate culture of voestalpine. Our ambitious step-by-step plan to reduce CO2 emissions in steel production is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our commitment to sustainability, which an independent committee in the non-profit organization has now confirmed.
