Gebrüder Böhler & Co. is founded in Vienna.

1894

Acquisition of Kapfenberg’s steel mill.

1975

Böhler, Schoeller-Bleckmann and Steirische Gusstahlwerke AG were brought together to “Vereinigte Edelstahlwerke AG” (VEW).

1988

Vereinigte Edelstahlwerke AG is divided to form Böhler GmbH and Schoeller-Bleckmann GmbH.

1990

voest Alpine Stahl AG buys Uddeholm AB.

1991

Merger of the Austrian Böhler and the Swedish Uddeholm to form Böhler Uddeholm AG. The roots of Böhler and Uddeholm date back to 1446 and 1668.

1995

Böhler-Uddeholm is partly privatized by making an initial publicoffering on the Vienna Stock Exchange.

2004

Böhler-Uddeholm acquires Villares Metals in Brazil.

2005

Böhler-Uddeholm acquires Buderus Edelstahl in Germany.

2007

voestalpine AG acquires Böhler-Uddeholm AG; one year later the company is fully integrated into the voestalpine Group as the Special Steel Division.

2008

Böhler-Uddeholm AG taken over by voestalpine AG.

2011

The holding company Böhler-Uddeholm AG is renamed voestalpine Edelstahl GmbH.

2013

Böhler Pacific is established in Singapore to distribute Böhler material for the oil, gas, aerospace and CPI industry.

2015

UK investment in award winning purpose-built warehouse facility. KASTO system tallest in the UK and one of the largest in Europe.

2016

BÖHLER Specialty Metals UK is formed merging bar, plate and long products with tube and piping previously marketed under Schoeller Bleckmann UK brand.

2017

voestalpine Edelstahl GmbH and Special Steel Division change its name to High Performance Metals GmbH and High Performance Metals Division respectively.
Acquisition of CMP Alloys Scotland

2018

Rebrand of UK business to voestalpine High Performance Metals UK Ltd, from Bohler Uddeholm (UK) Limited.
Established voestalpine Specialty Metals UK Division for greater focus and support for our Oil & Gas sector customers.
