It has become a habit. voestalpine recently again received two important recognitions for its ongoing commitment to sustainability. These awards confirm our efforts and give our customers the certainty that we are consistent with our promise of sustainability.

ECOVADIS GOLD: CONSTANT PEAK PERFORMANCE

Once again in 2025, voestalpine Stahl GmbH achieved the gold ranking in the renowned EcoVadis Sustainability Achievement Awards. This confirms a position among the top 5% of all the companies rated worldwide.

The EcoVadis Sustainability Achievement Awards now includes more than 90,000 companies from more than 160 countries and comprises four key areas: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. The gold award underlines the long-term commitment and continuous improvement of voestalpine in each area of sustainability.

SUCCESSFUL RESPONSIBLESTEEL RECERTIFICATION

Another milestone: The voestalpine Steel Division in Linz has successfully recertified pursuant to the demanding ResponsibleSteel standard, which includes 13 chapters with more than 500 requirements, including the following:

  • Sustainable procurement of raw materials
  • CO2-reduced steel production technology
  • Compliance and employee rights
  • Responsible management of water resources and biodiversity

greentec steel, the ambitious plan of voestalpine to reduce CO2 emissions in steel production, remains a cornerstone of our sustainability commitment. We maintain our plan to produce net zero CO2 emissions by 2050 at the latest and are committed to maintaining and improving our award status.
