RECYCLING AGREEMENT
voestalpine Rohstoffschaffungs GmbH recently signed a long-term supply agreement with the TSR Group for recycled raw materials. The agreement will ensure the long-term supply to voestalpine of high-quality recycled materials and will create a stable foundation for our decarbonization strategy. The agreement will remain in effect until 2034 and secures the reliable supply of processed scrap from the TSR subsidiaries Johann Neumüller GmbH, headquartered in Ennsdorf (AT), and Alfa Rohstoffhandel München GmbH (DE) to our sites in Linz and Donawitz.

RECYCLING THAT MEETS THE DEMANDS OF OUR GREEN TRANSFORMATION
The voestalpine Steel Division has set itself the ambitious goal of being a technological and qualitative benchmark in the steel industry as well as in terms of sustainability. The basis for this is a step-by-step plan with defined milestones up to steel production with net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Two green-electricity-powered electric arc furnaces will be put into operation in 2027, one in Linz and one in Donawitz. The demand for recycled material will increase because much more scrap is used in electric arc furnaces than in blast furnaces.
An increase in the delivery volumes is planned to commence in 2027 in order to meet the higher demand of the technological transformation.
SHORT DISTANCES, BIG BENEFITS
The geographical proximity of the TSR sites to our production sites in Linz and Donawitz means short transport routes and reliable logistics, a clear advantage for the environment and a significant increase in efficiency.
The partnership goes well beyond the mere supply of raw materials. It is a clear commitment to reliable supply, regional proximity and a highly functional circular economy.

Recycled raw materials are like good colleagues: reliable, flexible and always prepared to take on new responsibilities.
