As part of the voestalpine Railway Systems presence, the Railway Systems Academy is contributing a vital perspective to the industry's future: education, skills development, and knowledge transfer.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors can meet the Academy team in Hall 21b, Booth 150 to exchange ideas on railway training, future competencies, and the challenges facing the next generation of railway professionals.
Why Skills Matter in Modern Railway Infrastructure
Railway systems are becoming increasingly complex. Digitalization, automation, data-driven maintenance, sustainability goals, and growing capacity requirements are changing how rail networks are planned, built, operated, and maintained.
Keeping pace with these developments requires more than technology. It requires people with the right knowledge, practical expertise, and the ability to continuously adapt to new industry demands.
In Conversation with the Railway Industry
InnoTrans provides a unique opportunity to discuss the future of railway education and workforce development with industry experts from around the world.
During the event, Bernd Hinterleitner, Vice President Railway Systems Academy, is available for discussions on railway training, skills development, and the competencies required for future railway systems.
The conversations during the first days of the exhibition have already demonstrated a shared industry focus: ensuring that workforce capabilities evolve alongside technological innovation.
A Strong Start at InnoTrans 2026
The first day at InnoTrans 2026 brought inspiring conversations with customers, partners, and railway experts from across the globe. The exchange of perspectives highlighted the growing importance of continuous learning and professional development in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient railway infrastructure.
The Railway Systems Academy looks forward to continuing these discussions throughout the exhibition and exploring how training and knowledge transfer can support the future of rail transportation.
