SOS Children’s Village

SOS Children’s Villages in South Africa provides a home for children and young people who have lost or are at risk of losing parental care, allowing them to live according to their own culture and religion while ensuring their needs for food, healthcare, shelter, and education are met. These villages offer a nurturing environment where children who have been alone can reclaim their childhood, engaging in activities like playing, laughing, learning, making friends, and enjoying all the experiences a child should have.

For over 20 years, voestalpine High Performance Metals Africa has supported SOS Children’s Villages in South Africa, providing a nurturing home for children to grow, learn, and reclaim their childhood. As we look to the future, we are proud to evolve our commitment by sponsoring the YouthCAN! Youth Upliftment program. This global initiative aligns with the SOS International Strategy 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to bridge the gap between school and independent adulthood. Manger Care Centre

Manger Care Centre (MCC) creates a nurturing environment to positively uplift and empower vulnerable and destitute beneficiaries through its diverse initiatives. Their comprehensive programmes provide food, clothing, skills development, employment opportunities, rehabilitation services, and housing for those in need. By offering this support, MCC also instills hope through psychological and spiritual guidance, counseling, and emotional support services. Their mission is to ensure beneficiaries feel valued and worthy as members of society.

CHOC

CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA provides vital support to children and teenagers who have been diagnosed with cancer and life-threatening blood disorders, as well as their families. Originating as a parent support group in 1979, CHOC has evolved into a national organisation dedicated to offering comprehensive assistance. Their holistic approach includes emotional support from diagnosis onwards, patient-facing support such as accommodation, transportation, CHOC Carebags, and basic nutritional assistance. CHOC’s efforts ensure that many children and teenagers, especially those from low-income families living far from treatment centres, can access and adhere to the necessary but arduous treatment cycles that can last over three years. Additionally, CHOC advocates for those affected by childhood cancer through awareness campaigns and lobbying.

The Haven Care Centre, founded in 1999, is a registered non-profit organization committed to providing a safe, secure environment for men, women, and children who have experienced abuse or abandonment. With a mission to help residents find healing and reclaim their sense of self-worth, The Haven strives to empower individuals to overcome their past challenges and rebuild their lives. The Centre offers comprehensive support through safe accommodation, medical and psychological care, educational resources, and reintegration assistance, fostering a nurturing, family-like community that encourages personal growth and emotional well-being. Through the dedication of donors, volunteers, and partners, The Haven Care Centre is able to continue its life-changing work, offering hope and a fresh start to those in need.

Recycling for Animal Welfare

Recycling for Animal Welfare (RAW) is a South African non-profit organization founded in 2017 with a mission that goes far beyond waste management. By converting glass and cardboard recycling into funds, RAW provides essential support for animals in need, covering rescue, feeding, sterilizations, vaccinations, and emergency veterinary care. Since its inception, RAW has recycled over 750 tonnes of glass and 75 tonnes of cardboard, directly benefiting more than 600 animals in Gauteng’s East Rand. Their work demonstrates how small, everyday actions can be transformed into meaningful change for both the environment and animal welfare.
