Experience the entire steel-making process, which begins with the extraction of raw materials and ends with the finished product made from premium steel.

This guided tour requires a booking via our booking form and by email to Abenteuer Erzberg

(please quote the booking code “voestalpine – From the very beginning”).

The tour starts at Erzberg, in Eisenerz. You will then make your own way to the visitor centre in Donawitz. The tour continues here, taking in the key stages of production – from steelmaking via the blast furnace route to further processing.

We include the steelworks in terms of content in our tour and explain its processes and significance within the overall context. Please note that we do not enter the steelworks directly, as visitor access is currently not permitted there.

Please note that transport (Erzberg, Eisenerz and the wire rolling mill in St. Peter Freienstein) is not included.
