Due to construction work for our electric arc furnace, we are temporarily unable to offer all modules of our factory tours.
The electric arc furnace at the Donawitz site will go into operation in 2027, marking an important milestone for greentec steel, Austria’s largest climate protection program.
The tour “steel mill” is therefore not bookable until the end of 2025 and the tour “blast furnace” is only available to a limited extent.

Requirements to register for a tour:
Minimum age: 14 years
Group size: 6-22 people
Available Tours
2.5 hours
Covers the central production areas along the blast furnace route and provides a comprehensive insight into steel production with a view to the future.
5 hours
The "path to steel" tour followed by a visit to the rail rolling mill and wire rolling mill.
1 hour
A tour around the outside of the Donawitz site for children under 15 years of age. The basics of steel production are explained.
2,5 hours
The "path to steel" tour, with straight forward wording, adapted to suit teenagers and young adults.
2 hours
Focus on the transformation of steel production as part of greentec steel – Austria's largest climate protection program.
6 hours
Start at Radwerk IV in Vordernberg (historic blast furnace), followed by all modules of the the "path to steel" tour including greentec steel content.
